There are 166 ports in Vietnam, stretching from north to south, in which 10 ports serve tourist ships—all tourist seaports located in the most famous destinations, convenient for sightseeing and doing shore excursions.

Normally, tourists can rent a car from the port to the city to visit in a day and return to the cruise in the evening.

PORTS AUTHORIZATION FEES

Port fees, similar to airport tax, apply to all cruise passengers who take shore excursions and services. If you process shore excursion packages from your cruise lines or appointed travel agents at the ports, the fee is included in the price. Of course, the rate is more expensive than booking with the local operator.

Port fees are required in all ports in Vietnam, but some are compulsory and others optional if your meeting point is outside the terminal gate. However, if you want to be picked up at your ship, you have to pay port fees (FROM 25US$/pax)
