ASEAN Children Festival 2017, under the theme “Journey of Discovery”, is taking place in Ha Noi from May 29 to June 4.
The event is held to celebrate International Children’s Day (June 1) and mark the enhancement of friendship, cultural exchange, and understanding among children of ASEAN countries.
The event provides an opportunity for children from different countries to have a cultural exchange and learn more about the land, people and culture of Viet Nam and others through diverse activities such as visiting cultural relics and beautiful landscapes in Ha Noi, taking part in exchanges with ASEAN children delegations, participating in folklore activities and discovering the art of water puppetry.
The highlight of the event is the opening ceremony, to be broadcast live at 8:10 pm on June 1 on VTV1 channel of Viet Nam Television; the closing ceremony to take place on June 3 at pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake, and the street festival broadcast live on VTV1 channel at 9:10 pm on June 4.
The festival was held for the first time in Ha Noi, from May 28 to June 2, 2016.
