Aiming to boost tourists exchange between Viet Nam and Taiwan, on July 24, 2018, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) led by Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong hosted roadshow introducing tourism in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong highlighted the potentials and achievements of Viet Nam tourism. Being endowed with beautiful landscapes and unique cultural values, Viet Nam has been becoming an attractive destination in the region.

In 2017, there were nearly 13 million international arrivals to Viet Nam, increasing about 30% over 2016; tourism receipts reached USD23 billion; the tourism sector contributed approximately 7,95% to GDP. The sector set targets of serving 17-20 million international arrivals and 82 domestic trippers, gaining USD35 billion in tourism receipts and contributing over 10% to GDP in 2020.

The roadshow was a good opportunity for Taiwan’s tourism enterprises and people to learn more about Viet Nam’s tourism and culture. Viet Nam will provide high-quality tourism services and products meeting visitors’ demands and facilitate tourism enterprises of the two sides to strengthen business cooperation.

Attending the event, Deputy Director of Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau – Urna S.H.Chen highly valued the hospitality of Vietnamese people and special culture, nature and cuisine of Viet Nam and particularly some popular destinations namely Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Ha Long Bay, Da Nang, Nha Trang.

Deputy Director of Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau believed that thanks to the achievements and efforts in tourism cooperation in recent years, the two sides will successfully realize the target of exchanging about 1.5 million tourists in 2020.
